Celebrated Filipino Restaurant Opening on Sawtelle
The famous Filipino restaurant Spoon and Pork will soon be opening a new location in addition to its Silver Lake restaurant in the Westside. As reported by Eater.comSpoon and Pork co-owner Ray Yaptinchay has reportedly said the new restaurant will open in the old Kimikatsu space at 2121 Sawtelle Boulevard. The opening days of the new restaurant are Tuesday to Sunday with daily hours for lunch and dinner, lunch from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant serves, as they describe, modern cuisine Filipino comfort food including Chori rice, patita, and Adobo pork belly.
The food festival of Playa Vista today
A brand new food festival opens in Playa Vista on October 14, as reported Toddrickallen.com. It’s called Taste of the track and this is the link where you can buy tickets. The restaurants that will serve food are Loqui, Urban Plates, Bell and Butterfly, Sol Cocina, Hopdaddy, Neighbors, and the Joliet Cafe, which will also serve drinks. Alcohol can be purchased separately. All participating restaurants are located, Neighbors will open soon, in the Track shopping center and there will be live music.
Cobi’s opens its doors in the former Dhaba space
As reported by Toddrickallen.com, Cobi’s, a Southeast Asian restaurant, is returning to a new location after closing earlier in 2021. The new restaurant opened in the former Dhaba Indian restaurant space at 2104 Main Street in Santa Monica. Cobi’s serves curries like Randang beef and other dishes like chicken larb and nasi goreng, as well as a dry-aged, wood-grilled branzino. You can book here.
Cure Spa Opening of the Malibu restaurant?
There are rumors of Spa cure open a restaurant area near their spa in Cross the stream in Malibu as reported by Toddrickallen.com. Both spaces are located at 23401 Civic Center Drive and while there is no confirmation that a restaurant will permanently open, Toddrickallen says there is an ABC app on the window that mentions that the app is for a “food court”. It remains to be seen what the new space will bring to the development of the park in Cross Creek, but it is very possible that a new restaurant or cafe related to Cure Spa is in the works. Cure Spa could not immediately be reached for comment.
